Police release e-fit of man suspected of attempted abduction of young girl in Eastbourne

An e-fit image has been released of the man suspected of attempting to abduct a 13-year-old girl in Eastbourne on Friday (November, 8). Police said that the teenager was approached by a man between 5pm and 6pm around the area of East Dean Road and Green Street in Old Town. Officers said he is believed to have taken hold of her, as if to force her to go with him, but let go after the girl screamed and a passing motorist stopped. The suspect hastily left the area after this happened, according to police. He was described as around 5'10" tall, and had a predominantly local accent, with a slight indistinguishable accent. Police said the girl was unhurt and has been safely reunited with her parents. DC Elliott Lander said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, who may recognise the suspect or who may have dash-cam footage of what took place. "We think this was an isolated incident, but would nevertheless like to hear from anyone who may recently have been approached in similar circumstances in Eastbourne." Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting serial 1186 of 08/11.
