Police reveal multiple arrests made during Lewes Bonfire

Sussex Police have revealed they made nine arrests after Lewes Bonfire, which attracted an estimated 25,000 people last night (November, 5). George Fyffe, 63, of Baxter Road, Lewes, was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. He has since been charged to appear before Brighton Magistrates Court on December 5. Also among those arrested was a 19-year-old woman from Brighton on suspicion of assault of an emergency worker. A 16-year-old boy from Uckfield was taken to hospital after being arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly, and three counts of assault on police. Another 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug (cannabis) and possessing a stanley knife in public. South East Coast Ambulance Service and St John Ambulance also recorded treating 55 people for injuries by 1am this morning (November, 6).
