Police Say Cyclist Charged In Worthing Attack On Pedestrian Has Died While On Bail

Worthing Police Station

It's emerged that a man from Worthing, who'd been charged in connection with an attack on a 74-year-old man walking his dog in 2019, has died while awaiting trial.

The victim was walking his pet on a narrow footpath on Honeysuckle Lane in the town on June 17, 2019, when a cyclist attacked him.

The assault was so severe that the pedestrian suffered a broken pelvis, and significant bruising to his face and body.

After a public appeal, police arrested and charged Kenneth Ramage, 60, of Broadwater Road in the town.

He faced an allegation of grevious bodily harm with intent and was awaiting trial, on bail, at the time of his death on 19th May.

According to police, Mr. Ramage lost his life after falling into a gully while out walking in Fife, Scotland.

Officers say the death was not suspicious, and the victim of the attack in Worthing has been informed.
