Police are trying to identify a girl who was heard screaming in a street in Barnham, before being taken away by a man and a woman in a van. Officers said they were called to Foxes Croft on Sunday night (February, 16) between 9pm and 10pm, by a member of the public, who was concerned for a girl screaming outside of their home. Police said the girl, thought to be around 14, was in the company of three boys of a similar age in the play area between Foxes Croft and Farnhurst Road. The girl was reported to be shouting on the phone, before engaging in a struggle with a man who had arrived at the scene in a van, accompanied by a woman. All parties left together in the same vehicle, according to police, which was believed to be a long wheel base van. The girl was described as 5'5" tall, of a slim build, with long black hair. Police said the man and woman were described as being in their late 20s. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 1526 of 16/02.
