Preview: Tottenham Vs Brighton — Seagulls Seek Second Successive North London Success

Brighton and Hove Albion will spend a second consecutive Saturday in the North of London tomorrow when they take on free-flowing Tottenham Hotspur in a 12.30pm kick-off.

Last weekend saw the Seagulls halt a run of seven matches without a win — six losses and one draw — with a shock 2-1 success against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Spurs, meanwhile, continued their irresistible form with a thumping 4-0 win at Villa Park, the outstanding Son Heung-min reaching 17 Premier League goals for the campaign with a hattrick, taking him within three goals of Liverpool's Mo Salah in the race for the golden boot.

It means The Lilywhites have scored an eye-watering 25 goals in their previous seven league outings to romp into the top-four after their patchy early season form.

Antonio Conte's side have enjoyed the home comforts of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, collecting an average of more than two points per match.

Albion's best performances have been reserved for away fixtures, with their productivity on the road putting them on the fringes of top-six travellers: hosts often prone to their counter-attacking nature.

Form Guide

Tottenham's excellent form in 2022 is only bettered by title-chasing Liverpool, as Conte works his magic on an erstwhile stuttering squad.

Spurs have scored more goals this year than any other team, and are odds-on to secure the much coveted fourth place, with their rivals faltering.

Brighton have scored a paltry three goals in their previous six, although the win against Arsenal lifted them from the bottom of the form table.

It also meant they reached 37 points — 13 clear of the relegation zone — to all but secure another season in the top-tier.

The teams have met 34 times in the past, with Spurs enjoying 18 wins, Brighton eight, and a further eight encounters ending all square.

Injuries and suspensions

Tottenham will be without Matt Doherty for the rest of the season, after he sustained a knee injury early in the first half against Aston Villa, while Japhet Tanganga (knee) and Oliver Skipp (groin) are also on the treatment table.

Brighton's only injury concern is midfielder Jakub Moder, who is ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.

The Seagulls have been boosted by the return of centre-back Adam Webster, who made his first appearance since February 15 when he came off the bench in the win at Arsenal.

Predicted line-ups

Brighton (3-4-2-1):

Prediction: Tottenham 3 - 0 Brighton

Spurs are on fire, while Albion have every excuse to slip their flip-flops on and get the deckchairs out after reaching the sanctuary of 37 points.

Expect Harry Kane to have crept closer to Alan Shearer's Premier League goalscoring record by the time the final whistle is blown.
