Selsey lifeboat called to yacht on the rocks off Selsey Bill

Selsey's RNLI Lifeboat was called into action on Monday (May 25) to attend a yacht that had run aground on rocks off Selsey Bill.

Selsey's RNLI Lifeboat was called into action on Monday (May 25) to attend a yacht that had run aground on rocks off Selsey Bill.

HM Coastguard requested the launch of the Selsey inshore lifeboat at 5:37pm after it received reports of the yacht, which had two people on board.

When the lifeboat crew arrived on scene at Mixon rocks, they found that the propellor of the 37ft yacht was fouled.

The lifeboat aided the yacht's crew in freeing the propellor, and stood-by until the yacht refloated at 11.09pm - allowing the yacht to continue to Chichester harbour unaided.
