'Seriously injured' 50-year-old cyclist taken to hospital after collision in Shoreham

A 50-year-old cyclist has been taken to hospital after colliding with a vehicle in Shoreham on Tuesday (May, 26).

Police said emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a Land Rover Discovery and a cycle in Kingston Lane, at around 6pm.

It was reported that the air ambulance also attended the incident.

The local man riding the bicycle was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries.

The Discovery driver, an 80-year-old man from Steyning, was uninjured.

The road was reopened shortly after 9pm.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting Operation Elmsted.
