Seven men charged in relation to major fraud investigation across south of England

Seven men have been charged with a total of 24 offences in relation to a major fraud investigation across the South of England, including three men from Sussex. The charges follow an operation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) and include fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud and money laundering. The investigation follows incidents across the south where over 70 people were the victim of credit card and driving licence cloning between September 2017 and August 2018. Those charged from Sussex include William Benning, 32, of Callisto Close in Crawley, charged with six counts of money laundering, along with Malcolm McGregor, 37, of Moor Park Crescent, also in Crawley, charged with three counts of money laundering. Imarn Bhatti, 32, of Rushmans Road, Horsham, was charged with one count of money laundering.
