Significant Rock Fall From Cliff Face Between Seaford Head And Hope Gap

Photos by Alan Novis

There's been a significant rock fall between Seaford Head and Hope Gap, which is likely to have weakened the cliff face above it.

Newhaven resident Alan Novis alerted Facebook users and captured pictures of the fall, estimating a 15-18 foot recess into the face of the cliff, leaving large piles of rock at the base.

The pictures have emerged just one month after More Radio reported a large crack in the cliff face at Beachy Head, as tourists walked along the edge above.

The fall comes as a reminder to people visiting the area, that the cliff face is liable to rock fall and people should stay well away from the edge.
