Firefighters have been tackling a blaze in Hassocks this afternoon (Wednesday).
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a building fire in London Road, at around 1.28pm.
Six crews including firefighters from East Sussex were at the scene at it's peak.
The incident was being scaled down at around 2.51pm.
There is no information on the cause so far, and traffic was still disrupted at around 3pm.
3.17pm A spokesperson from Sussex Police said:
"Drivers have been asked to please avoid area of the A273 London Rd between Hassocks and Burgess Hill if possible for time being this afternoon 11 Nov - road is closed between both due to fire in a farm outbuilding.
"Fire Service called us at 1.50pm, they are leading response and have advised for road to be closed.
"Derelict building, no reports of injuries or persons trapped at present, and fire almost extinguished by 2.45pm.
"Fire will examine for cause when safe, and the road will remain closed in the meantime."

On arrival the building was well alight and at its peak we had six crews in attendance - including assistance from @EastSussexFRS. However, the incident is now being be scaled down.
