Stranded casualty winched up cliff face at Seaford Head

HM Coastguard said teams from Newhaven and Birling Gap attended the scene after recieving a call alerting them of someone who was cut off by the tide, at around 7.40pm. Rescuers positioned themselves above the casualty and used rope equipment to lower a cliff technician around 200 feet to the beach below. "Remember some (not all) tide tables and tide apps use in Greenwich Mean Time, so you need to add an hour for British Summer Time. "As in our incident today, if you see someone you believe is in difficulty at the coast, call 999 and ask for Coastguard."
