A man has been arrested after a pedestrian sustained serious injuries in a collision in Eastbourne today (Friday).
Officers said they were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Station Street, shortly after midday.
The pedestrian was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings.
According to police, her injuries are serious but not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.
A man was detained at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of a specified drug over a specified limit, and on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He remained in police custody on Friday afternoon.
