Police have arrested a suspected gunman following a planned intelligence operation in Brighton yesterday (Monday, 14). The 61-year-old man was detained after a warrant for the search of firearms was executed at a house in Richmond Road. Police said he remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and the possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate and remains in police custody at this stage. The scene remains secured for searches, according to police, with assistance by the Explosive Ordnance Department.
