Britain's official weather forecasters have issued a THREE-DAY health warning for Sussex starting on Thursday (6th August) because of the danger from heat.
With temperatures predicted to reach 33 to 36 degrees, we're being told to take action to stay well.
Met Office advice includes drinking plenty of water, keeping curtains closed where windows face the sun, and slowing down any physical work.
Forecasters said:
"Increasingly hot conditions are likely across south-eastern parts of England from Friday as warm air spreads north from France.
"However, cooler and cloudier conditions with a few showers then expected to spread from the northeast later on Saturday."
They added specific advice:
"This stage requires social and healthcare services to target specific actions at high-risk groups.
"Look out for others, especially older people, young children and babies and those with underlying health conditions.
"Close curtains on rooms that face the sun to keep indoor spaces cooler and remember it may be cooler outdoors than indoors.
"Drink plenty of fluids and avoid excess alcohol, dress appropriately for the weather and slow down when it is hot."
