A man from Haywards Heath appeared in court on Friday (Nov 19) charged with carrying a kitchen knife and trespassing at Buckingham Palace.
Cameron Kalani,44, of Haywards Heath, West Sussex, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday and admitted to trespassing on a protected site, possession of a bladed article and possession of a Class A drug (cocaine).
The prosecutor said he'd been seen by a fire marshal attempting to climb over the fence of the Royal Mews.
The Mews is part of the Buckingham Palace estate, and houses the Royal Family's horses.
Palace guards detained him, describing him as confused and not knowing what was happening.
The court heard that Kalani suffers from schizoaffective disorder and may have been in the midst of an episode and under the influence of drugs at the time.
Sentencing was adjourned until December 16.
A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman declined to comment.
