Sussex Residents Invited To Put Questions To Police And Crime Commisioner

Residents are being invited to put their questions about policing in Sussex to the Police Crime Commissioner.

Questions can be about any policy issue relating to Sussex Police as long as they avoid mentioning operational matters or live cases.
The deadline for written questions is noon on Friday 11 September.

The Commissioner will then provide a written response on the date of the next meeting, on Friday 25 September, at 10.30am, which will take place via webcast with responses being posted on the Panel's website.

Due to the Covid-19 situation, the meeting will held virtually, with participants joining via phone or laptop.

Chairman of the Police Crime Panel, Cllr Bill Bentley, said:

"Do you have a question about policing in Sussex? This is an excellent opportunity to put your questions to the Police Crime Commissioner and to hear the answers.

"We welcome questions from the public about financing and policy priorities as well as recent announcements."

The main items on the agenda include:

  • The Commissioner's role in Sussex Police's response to Rural Crime and Business Crime.
  • The Commissioner's response to the recent Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services Inspection of Roads Policing.
  • Questions about other issues are also welcomed providing they fall within the Commissioner's responsibility.

Questions can be submitted in writing to pcp@westsussex.gov.uk or by telephoning 0330 222 2542.
