Sussex Weather: Snow On The Ground Today?

Here's a prediction, made at 6am this morning, for where snow will remain on the ground across the More Radio area today, February 8th and beyond.

In addition to the Met Office weather warning about the dangers of snow and ice on the ground, there's also an official health warning from all Sussex's local authorities.

They advise taking action to ensure vulnerable people aren't harmed by the coldest weather so far this winter.

Britain's official forecasters said early this morning (February 8) that snow showers will continue, with further accumulations and some drifting.

Strong easterly winds will be present, though the strongest will only touch the eastern edges of the Sussex coastline.

But the wind will keep temperatures feeling bitterly cold, with thermometers hardly moving above 0C in the day, and falling below freezing tonight.

In the wind, it will feel colder still.

The weather map above, showing predicted depth of snow on the ground, was generated between 6am and 9am this morning by the German weather service Deutsche Wetterdienst using data received earlier today.
