Senior staff at SECAmb, the ambulance service in Sussex, Kent and Surrey, have warned the public that its paramedics are currently facing 'significant pressure'.
The statement, made late on Monday (December 28), said its staff were prioritising ambulance and paramedic availability for those who were "most seriously ill or injured".
They pleaded for patience from the public, and issued a reminder that the free NHS 111 service was still available, 24 hours a day, where there isn't an obvious emergency needing an ambulance.
The NHS 111 service can be reached online here: https://111.nhs.uk — or by making a free telephone call to 111.
