Three Arrests After Cars Destroyed By Fire In Hove

Police have made three arrests in connection with a fire that engulfed and destroyed two parked cars in Hove in the early hours of this morning (October 5).

Emergency services attended Goldstone Crescent shortly after 2am.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus to put out the flames but a police investigation was simultaneously moving quickly.

Experts discovered one vehicle had been set on fire deliberately, and that the fire had then spread to a second vehicle parked behind it.

Police said their enquiries led them to stop a car in Eastbourne less than an hour after the alarm was raised in Hove.

Officers made three arrests.

One woman was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, while another woman and a man were arrested on suspicion of arson alone.

According to police, all three remained in custody on Monday afternoon.

An appeal has been made for information, including CCTV or doorbell footage from residents in or near Goldstone Crescent.

Sussex Police asked to be contacted online or by calling 101 quoting serial 65 of 05/10.
