Town Council Brings Christmas Magic Back To Seaford

Seaford Town Council hosted this year’s Seaford Christmas Magic on Saturday December 3 in the town — declaring it a roaring success.

The return of street market stalls and entertainment in the main streets of Seaford town saw hundreds turnout to get into the festive spririt.

Children were invited to make ‘look to the stars’ lanterns in the Mercread Youth Centre with SCIP (Sussex Contemporary Illustrators & Printmakers) ahead of the Magical Lantern Parade.

The parade saw children proudly marching their lanterns through the town centre, joined by the Earthquake Drummers, who led the way to the top of Broad Street to meet the Mayor of Seaford.

Seaford Rotary Father Christmas then began the countdown for switching on the town's sparkling Christmas lights.

A variety of live music captivated visitors at Tansley’s Yard performance stage, hosted by Shannon Victoria with a mix of vocalists, musicians, and other contemporary performances throughout the day.

The event was topped off with a screening of a family-favourite film, Encanto, at Seaford Community Cinema.

Cllr Olivia Honeyman thanked everyone who was involved in the organisation of the event, saying:

“It was lovely to see so many children in the lantern parade and to help Santa turn Seaford’s Christmas lights on at the end of the day, fabulous community event.

"On behalf of the town, the Town Council wishes to thank all those who came and supported this community event and made Christmas Magic so festive."
