Three men have been arrested after reports of a car acting suspiciously in rural Wealden last Thursday (April, 23) afternoon. Police responded to a call about a blue Ford Focus near a house in Royal Oak Lane, High Hurstwood, where they spotted three people crawling along a hedgerow close to the property. Officers intercepted the men after they ran back to their vehicle. A search of the car revealed items including a crowbar, a tow rope, a wrench and pairs of gloves. Police said it later came to light that an outbuilding at the property had been broken into, but they're not aware if any items were stolen. Three local men aged 18, 29, and 30, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and going equipped for burglary. All suspects were released under investigation. DI Daniel Dugan said: "We continue to work closely with our communities in rural areas to keep the public safe, and to prevent and detect crime. "Working together, we can increase vigilance and awareness, and act upon any intelligence we may receive. "If you see anyone or anything suspicious in your area, please report it to us."
