Two arrested on suspicion of murder following 'serious incident' in Bognor

Police have arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of murder, following what they said was a 'serious incident' in Bognor early yesterday morning (Sunday, 22). According to officers, the victim, who has now been identified as Daniel Weyman, was found in Belmont Street in the town with 'critical' injuries just before 1.50am. The 32-year-old, of Belmont Street, was taken by air ambulance to hospital in Southampton, where he died yesterday afternoon. A 40-year-old man and 35-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder remain in custody at this time, according to police. DCI Alex Geldart, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: "This has been a fast moving investigation as a result of which we have made two arrests, but our thoughts are also with the deceased and his family at this time. "They are being supported by specially trained officers. "The investigation continues and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any other information that could help us is urged to come forward as soon as possible." Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting Operation Fairford.
