Two men arrested after reported armed robbery of jewellers in Eastbourne

Two men have been arrested after a reported armed robbery at a jewellers in Eastbourne on Sunday (January, 26). 15 Rolex watches, with an estimated value between £100,000 and £150,000 were reportedly stolen from Brufords in The Beacon Shopping Centre at around 10am. Police believe four masked men, one carrying a small handheld pick-axe or hammer, were seen entering the premises. A search of the area, assisted by armed police officers and the police helicopter, led to the arrest of two people found on the Cuckoo trail near Station Road. The search for the outstanding two suspects is continuing. A 39 and 41 year old from Sutton arrested on suspicion of robbery remain in custody. DI Ben Newman said: “We believe the suspects made off from the location in a silver coloured Range Rover Evoque which we later found abandoned in Orchard Grange, off Coldharbour Road, Lower Dicker. "We would like to hear from anyone that has any information about the occupants of this vehicle or where the suspects may have gone when they fled the abandoned car." Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 385 of 26/01.
