Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder After Reported Brighton Stabbing

Police have arrested two men on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a reported stabbing in central Brighton early on Thursday morning (June 4).

A 34-year-old man from Brighton and a 24-year-old man from Hove were detained in Hove in the early hours of Friday (June 5).

A few hours later, officers said the pair were being questioned in custody.

Police believe the victim was attacked in the Royal Pavilion Gardens before making his way to East Street around 2.27am on Thursday morning, where he was discovered with serious injuries.

Officers said he remained in a critical condition in hospital on June 5.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Wolstenholme, from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said:

"We continue to appeal to anyone with information about this incident to come forward and assist with our enquiries.

"We'd also like to extend our gratitude to the local community for their patience and understanding while our investigation into this complex matter is underway."
