Two People Racially Abused And Attacked In Front Of Their Child In Eastbourne

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Eastbourne on Thursday (Nov 18) in which two people were racially abused and attacked in front of their young child.

It happened at around 3.15pm in Marsden Road following a dispute around parking opposite a nearby children’s nursery.

A 56-year-old man from Eastbourne has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment and released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Jason Hoadley said:

“Racial abuse has absolutely no place in our society and any reports will be taken extremely seriously.

“Our officers are investigating this incident and would ask anybody who witnessed it or can offer any information to contact police online, or by calling 101, quoting serial 905 of 18/11.”
