Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Portslade in which a motorcyclist sustained serious injuries.
It happened on Wednesday morning (March 16th) just before 8.25am.
Emergency services attended a collision between a blue VW van and a man riding a motorcycle, at the junction of the A259 Wellington Road and Church Road, Portslade.
The A259 was closed in the immediate vicinity so services could work at the scene.
A 25-year-old Brighton man riding the motorcycle, sustained serious head injuries, requiring an air ambulance to take him to hospital.
A 34-year-old man from Southwick was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs over the specified limit. After being interviewed he was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
