'Urgent' Investigation After Two Teenagers Seriously Injured In Hastings Collision

Two men have now been arrested in connection with a serious collision in Hastings yesterday afternoon (July 20).

An urgent investigation is ongoing into the collision in Fredericks Road, in which two teenagers suffered significant injuries, at around 2.45pm.

A 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy, both from Hastings, were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, thought to be life-changing at the time.

Neither are now considered to be in a life-threatening condition.

A 22-year-old man from Hastings was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. 

A 23-year-old man from Eastbourne has now also been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Both remain in custody at this time.

An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the situation and the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any relevant video footage or information, is asked to contact Sussex Police either online or by calling 101, quoting Operation Glastonbury.

The public are also reminded this is an open investigation and to refrain from sharing anything on social media which would risk prejudicing the case.
