The driver of a van has lost their life after a collision between the vehicle they were driving and a goods vehicle on the A26 south of Uckfield, police said.
The collision between an articulated lorry and the van was reported at 10.48am on Wednesday morning (July 29), and took place at the junction of Horsted Lane with the A26 Lewes to Uckfield road.
According to officers, the heavy goods vehicle was heading south at the time, and its driver sustained no injury.
Emergency services said the van driver died at the scene, despite their best efforts.
PC David Upjohn said:
“We are appealing for witnesses to this fatal collision.
"If anyone saw it happen or has any dash-cam footage, please contact us.”
