A man has been arrested in Haywards Heath, in connection with windows being smashed at the front of two retailers in a shopping street on Sunday afternoon.
Reports were made soon before 5pm on Sunday (August 22) of a man breaking the glass at the front of Waterstones and Costa Coffee.
The premises are next to each other in the town's South Road.
Witnesses said a chair was used as a weapon to damage the windows.
According to police, a 35 year old man from the town was detained after the incidents, and he remained in custody this morning.
