Violinist And TikTok Star Records Music Video On Roof Of Brighton's i360 Pod

In celebration of 40 years of The Snowman, classical violinist and TikTok star Esther Abrami has released a new video of Walking in the Air - 450ft above Brighton.

The track was arranged for Esther by the film's original composer Howard Blake OBE.

It was filmed at iconic spots in Brighton, including the Palace Pier and features 360-degree drone footage of the South Downs National Park and the coastline of Brighton by night, as well as footage of the violinist playing part of the song standing on the top of Brighton's i360 viewing pod, making her the first solo instrumentalist and classical artist to perform there.

Attached to the pod by a rope, Esther plays the violin 450 feet above Brighton. She said:

“Watching The Snowman is one of the most nostalgic and special Christmas traditions for so many families and I’m so honoured to have been given the chance to share this special version of the iconic track. It was one of the most fun and exhilarating performances of my life – attached by a rope on top of the glass i360 pod and with my violin and bow tied to my wrist is something that I will never forget!”

The public are now able to walk on top of the i360 themselves just as Esther did, with the release of the ‘Walk 360’ experience in June 2022.

The public will get the chance to meet The iconic Snowman when he visits Brighton i360 in conjunction with children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House, on Tuesday 20th December. The snowman will appear on the 11am, 12pm and 1pm time slots. Tickets are the standard price, and donations for Chestnut Tree House are welcome on the day. Tickets can be purchased at: www.brightoni360.co.uk

Esther’s music video coincides with 40 years of THE SNOWMAN™ and 10 years of THE SNOWMAN™ AND THE SNOWDOG film adaptations, based on the picture book by the late author and illustrator Raymond Briggs.

This winter, Penguin Random House Children’s is celebrating the anniversaries with a limited theatrical release of both films, available in more than 70 ODEON cinemas nationwide for 6 weeks from 25 November 2022.
