Witness Appeal Following Eastbourne Burglaries

Police are apealing for witnesses following a spate of burglaries in Eastbourne.

Officers received a report of a man breaking into a house in Mill Gap Road at 4.15am on Wednesday, June 16.

When challenged by the victim, the suspect ran from the property.

A wallet containing bank cards was taken. 

A second property in Mill Gap Road was also broken into, but nothing was taken.

Further burglaries were reported at a garage and house in Prideaux Road, with a wallet and handbag also taken.

A quantity of tools were also reported as stolen from a vehicle in Carew Road around 3am that day.

The suspect is described as white, male, thought to be aged in his 20s, of a medium build, wearing a dark blue baseball cap, dark mask, dark navy jacket, dark shorts, black socks and trainers and carrying a black rucksack.

Police believe the suspect spoke with a member of the public at a bus stop in Station Parade around 7am and police are keen to trace this person as they be able to assist with enquiries.
