A woman aged 18 has today (January 30) been killed in a collision involving a single vehicle close to Southwater, in West Sussex.
According to Sussex Police, the incident involving a white Fiat 500 occurred on the B2237 Worthing Road about 12.30pm.
The sole occupant of the car — a woman who lived locally — was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly before 5pm this afternoon, police said the road is likely to remain closed for some time between the junctions of the A24 and Salisbury Road — drivers should seek alternative routes.
An appeal has been launched for information from witnesses who saw the Fiat being driven in the area, or anyone who may have relevant dash-cam footage.
As a contact address, police gave collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, and asked correspondents to quote Operation Sunningdale.
