Police in Rye have carried out an anti-drugs raid, as part of what they called "continued work" to combat supplies of illegal substances in the area.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team have today (May 19) revealed they took part in an operation at a property in Peasmarsh on May 11.

Items were seized from the address and one woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy in relation to hiding or removing criminal property.

She has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

This was the latest in a series of warrants executed under Operation Reclaim, which the force says is its response to reports of drug activity and associated criminal damage in the Rye area.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who has any information or concerns relating to the use, supply or distribution of drugs in the community is asked to contact police online or by calling 101.

Alternatively, information can be passed to police anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
