Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of drink and drug-driving, after a car crashed into a tree in Crawley early this morning (Thursday, 15). The incident, involving a black Vauxhall Corsa, happened at the junction of the A23 Crawley Avenue and Ifield Avenue shortly after 5.30am. Police said a passenger in the Corsa sustained serious injuries, and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment. A 23-year-old woman from East Grinstead was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug-driving, and remains in police custody at this stage. Police said no other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved. Road closures were put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident.
