A woman has died after her car crashed into a lamppost and crash barrier on the A27 near Brighton yesterday morning (Sunday, 16). Police said the car collided with a lamppost and then the barrier on the westbound side of the road at Patcham at 7.40am. The 24-year-old woman driving the car was seriously injured and died at the scene. Police said her family have been informed. The road was closed in both directions to enable rescue and recovery work to take place. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to call 101, quoting Operation Glenfield.
