Woman In Her 80s Dies In A29 Collision In West Sussex

A woman in her 80s died in a crash on the A29 in West Sussex, yesterday afternoon (Friday).

Two cars collided near Fairmile Bottom, Madehurst near Slindon, just after 12.30pm.

The woman, who police say was driving one of the vehicles involved, died at the scene.

The second driver, a man, was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries. Nobody else is said to be involved.

In a statement, Sussex Police said:

"The A29 was closed in both directions for the incident to be attended to, and drivers are thanked for their patience and understanding over the inevitable delays that resulted.

"Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact Sussex Police either via collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting Operation Dordrecht."
