Firefighters from West Sussex and Hampshire have spent four hours tackling a fire at a workshop in Chidham. Smoke from the blaze in Cot Lane could be seen from miles away yesterday (30 December), after flames broke out in the afternoon. With the wind not helping, residents in Chidham, Nutbourne, Bosham, Fishbourne and the western side of Chichester were advised to keep their windows and doors shut whilst the blaze was brought under control. The fire was finally out in the evening, with firefighters from Chichester staying on the scene to damp down and turn over.
