Worthing Police Sergeant Risks The Sack Over Bullying And Racism Allegations

A Sussex Police Sergeant based in Worthing is at risk of getting the sack if allegations of gross misconduct are proved.

A hearing was due to take place between January 27-29 to assess whether the actions of PS Andrew Hother CH863 between January 2019 and January 2020 amount to gross misconduct.

However, on January 21, at the direction of the Legally Qualified Chair, it was adjourned to a later unconfirmed date.

During this time PS Hother is accused of bullying colleagues and making racist remarks to colleagues in the presence of members of the public.

He has also allegedly been seen vaping inside police vehicles or at public locations in uniform.

Sussex Police said these allegations are so serious as to amount to gross misconduct if proved, which is punishable by dismissal.
