Worthing Pride To Go Ahead After Council Objections Appeased

Pride returns to Worthing for 2022 at the new home of Steyne Gardens following a lengthy but successful licensing application process with Adur Council.

The team behind Worthing Pride has appeased all objections by submitting plans that will ensure a smooth and successful event for the town over the next four years.

This year's pride, which takes places on July 8 and 9, will see a ‘Return to the 90s’ on Friday night to kickstart the weekend of celebrations.

Five, Liberty X, N-Trance, Baby D and Janice Robinson - the original vocalist from ‘Livin Joy’ will take to the main stage from 6pm.

Worthing Pride has made a conscious effort this year to add something different to the weekend of celebrations to ensure everyone in the town is catered for.

Michael Hall, the event's director, said:

"After 17 months hard planning from the team behind Worthing Pride we are so pleased the plans for 2022 have been approved.

"We have a fantastic working relationship with the council our previous events have shown a real safe, family friendly event for the residents of Worthing.

"We estimate that over the next four years Pride in Worthing will generate more than £1m in revenue towards the local economy while supporting local LGBTQi+ charities."

Early bird Tickets for 2022 have sold out however, general release tickets are available by visiting worthingpride.com.

Local businesses can also get involved by email the team sales@worthingpride.com to see how they can support pride 2022.
