Man Arrested After Worthing Street Robbery

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a robbery in Worthing where a woman out walking was punched and had a bank card and her ID stolen.

The 18-year-old woman was in Broadwater Green around 4.30pm on Monday (March 15) when a man approached her, demanding money.

When the victim said she had none, the suspect punched her and took her bank card and ID.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

PC Emma MacSweeney said:

"This incident took place at a busy time of day and we are confident that someone will have witnessed what happened.

"Anyone who witnessed the robbery, or who may have any other information, is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1138 of 15/03.

"Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
