Worthing woman attacked in her own home before being robbed

Police are investigating a robbery at a house in Worthing where a woman was attacked by two men who stole cash and items of jewellery. Officers were called to Salvington Road just before 6.40pm yesterday evening (Monday, 16) following reports the two men had forced their way into a property. Police said the men, who had their faces covered, assaulted the female occupant, and left the scene with cash and jewellery, leaving the victim with minor injuries. It is thought the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, heading eastbound towards Cotswold Road. The first suspect was described as a white man, 5'7" tall, and in his mid to late 20s. He was wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up and a scarf covering the lower half of his face. He was also wearing a high-vis waist coat over the hooded top. The second suspect was described as a mixed race man, 5'5" tall, of medium build and also in his mid to late 20s. He also wore a dark hooded top with the hood up and a scarf covering the lower part of his face. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 1153 of 16/12.
