Men in Sheds

Men in Sheds is a nationwide organization of mainly retired people, who are keen to engage in an environment where they can learn new skills, in a social setting and make new friends. At the same time, they manufacture wooden items in our workshop from recycled timber donated by the public such as clocks, planters, bug hotels & more.

Apron

Apron is a community Arts and Craft initiative based at Buckingham Park, Shoreham-by-sea. Apron believes that everyone in our community should have a space to be creative. They offer intergenerational arts and crafts workshops, cultural heritage events and inclusive pop-up sessions in the Apron Community Garden and across Adur and Worthing. This year they will have Christmas cards and sustainable decorations available for purchase.

John Bond

John Bond is an illustrator, author and artist based in Worthing. He creates work for books, merchandise, print projects, campaigns and has exhibited his artwork internationally. His studio is here at Colonnade House.

At the Pop-Up you will find signed copies of his popular ‘Mini Rabbit’ picture book series, alongside the newly released ‘Dogs in Disguise’. A hilarious, rhyming story (written by award winning author Peter Bently) that takes a peek into the secret lives of our canine friends.

John will also be selling a selection of greetings cards and signed prints.

Diane Bailey

Mark has mainly worked for the past 25 years as a chef but on breaks from the high pressured environment of the kitchen, he trained and worked as a framer and artist. Mark will be selling some of his latest abstract works at the Pop-up Shop this year.

Shona Macdonald

Shona Macdonald’s work draws inspiration from the natural world, captured in ink drawings from the pine forests of the Western Highlands and small organically shaped smoke-fired ceramics.

Wendy Palmer

Wendy Palmer will be showing a range of ceramic artwork. Wendy’s hand built pieces reflect her favourite themes of local land and seascapes, developing her recent collections – producing both highly decorated and texturally finished work in a range of sizes.

Nadia Chalk

Nadia is inspired by the strength and beauty of seascapes and landscapes. Using foraged pieces of wood and rusty metal to make 3D dwellings.

Each piece dictates its own identity with natural forms and patterns that are enhanced with inks and paint.

Vanessa Breen

“Inspiration for my art is everywhere”

Vanessa Breen is often distracted by something that catches her eye whilst out walking. Whether it is a natural or urban environment, an old door or the sea.
Her recent work explores how things naturally age and decay over time, building layers and using a variety of techniques including paint, collage & photoshop.

Michael Lainchbury

Michael is a guest artist at Old Cartshed Studio, he makes closed form sculptures with various types of Raku firing. He shapes the forms and refines the surface, they are then submitted to the fire, where the heart of the flame is captured on the surface of the clay. In this event he creates a range of gift hangings, perfect for that special someone. There will also be some sculptural work and a small selection of functional items.
